Experimental Rocket Propulsion Society (ERPS) will meet at the Dojo, July 17, 2018 (Tues) at 7:30pm in Classroom. Among the highlights will be a video and review of a rocket static fire test that took place in Mojave on Saturday, July 7.
The rocket in question is KISS (Keep It Simple Scientist), a monopropellant high-test peroxide (H2O2) design. Static test was done at Friends of Amateur Rocketry (FAR), Mojave, CA. The purpose of the static fire was to test the readily of the rocket for launch and check out a newly designed data acquisition system in internally designed A/D capture.
An actual launch of KISS from FAR is planned for August 2018. The rocket hardware previously flew in April 2002, with 1 flight on April 13 and 2 flights on April 14, but has been refurbished and has new instrumentation added.
